Author:  Kiersten White

Length:  304 pages

Fia was born with flawless instincts. Her first impulse, her gut feeling, is always exactly right. Her sister, Annie, is blind to the world around her—except when her mind is gripped by strange visions of the future.

Trapped in a school that uses girls with extraordinary powers as tools for corporate espionage, Annie and Fia are forced to choose over and over between using their abilities in twisted, unthinkable ways… or risking each other’s lives by refusing to obey.

In a stunning departure from her New York Times bestselling Paranormalcy trilogy, Kiersten White delivers a slick, edgy, heartstoppingly intense psychological thriller about two sisters determined to protect each other—no matter the cost  -Goodreads

My Thoughts
When Fia and Annie lose their parents at the age of 12, the offer of a full scholarship from the prestigious Keane School seems like a dream come true.  Little do the girls know that the inborn psychic gifts that the school promises to hone will be used to trap them into doing the unthinkable to people they don't know and each other.

This book will fly by so fast that you will not believe that it is 300+ pages.  The best way to describe the story line would be X-Men:  The Villains meets Le Femme Nakita.
This is the first YA that I have read which featured two equally strong female leads.

Annie
Fia's older sister, she has the power to see the future though she is blind.  She proves to be quite the puppet mistress in this read.  She may start out as the one that you want to feel for and sympathize with...but she proves that she is not to be trifled with.

Fia
While Annie proves to be the mental player in what is essentially a game for their lives; Fia is all about brute force.  Gifted with the power of an intuition that never fails and trained to lie and kill; Fia is the perfect weapon.  A weapon that the powers that be at the Keane School will do anything to keep.

Let The Games Begin
Fia may be an assassin, but no one said that she was a willing one.  When she is sent after a young researcher named Adam Denting, and she chooses to follow instinct over orders; she knows that there will be hell to pay.
What she doesn't know is just who is at the center of the storm that is brewing and just how long the winds of change are going to blow.

Not to worry though, help is on the way!

O.K., so the help comes with a few strings...

1.  He's a hot guy.
2.  His name is James.
3.  He's the boss's son.

In short...he's everything that Fia doesn't need.

This is an action packed thriller with a plot that screams READ ME.  Kiersten White keeps the reader riveted in present action while flashing back to chronologically ordered scenes that unobtrusively keep everything in context.  The thing that makes this feat truly extraordinary is the fact that she manages to do this for two separate characters with different voices and points of view.

There is a ton of action, a sea of lies, and more intrigue than one would think could be found in the whole of YA.  The true driving force behind this super read however, is the fierce love that the two sisters have for each other and the lengths that they go to in the name of that bond.

This is a definite read for anyone who loves the action packed, smart, and mind-bending read that you can't put down until the end.
