Once upon a time, a spell went awry and Make Believe characters were cast into the ordinary world. And the results aren’t always happily ever after…

Everyone thinks fairy godmothers can do no wrong. But if not for a certain spell mis-cast by Lavender Seelie, Cinderella’s former fairy godmother, the Tales would not be stuck in the Here and Now. Fortunately for Lavender, she’s about to get a second chance at a happy ending…

The Refuge, a sanctuary for wayward Tales, seems like the perfect place for Lavender to start a new life—especially when she discovers an unexpected ally in Seth, the brooding werewolf who’s been typecast as a villain ever since his run in with Little Red Riding Hood. But when humans from nearby towns start turning up dead, their bodies mutilated with archaic Tale symbols, Lavender wonders if Seth’s deep sensuality has blinded her to the truth. And that distraction could put innocent lives in danger. Including her own…  -Goodreads

My Thoughts
The second installment in the Transplanted Tales series finds disgraced fairy-godmother, Lavender Seelie off the drink and on the run after a fight with a not so Charming prince leads to her being tossed out of the home and service of "the one and only Cinderella".

Just as the stories of Tess Little and Nate Grimm thrilled, teased, and titillated readers in Red; so too, will the drama that comprises the stories of Seth Wolf and Lavender Seelie.
Headed away from Chicago in a blaze of less than glory, the wayward Lavender has no idea how her life will unfold.  She is just hoping for the best, while expecting the worst.

When a GPS on the fritz and a rainstorm leave her stranded on a deserted woodland road where she is savaged by hellhounds; she is expecting death.  What she gets however, is a knight in shining white fur.  That's right ladies...Seth Wolf is on the is on the hunt, but it seems as though his heart may be captured by a certain sassy spell-caster.

This is the story that readers of Red have been waiting for.  The look into the pasts of Seth and Lavender.  This is where we are treated to the softer side of both characters, as they attempt to protect each other body and soul and heal old wounds and new.
Not one to rest on it's romantic laurels...mystery, magic, murder and plots abound and it seems that Lavender and Seth may hold the key to saving the Tales of Refuge.

This story has it all!  The fairy tales are all grown up and ready to come out and play in this sexy saga with a magical mix of murder, mayhem, and mystery.  The stars of Red have a few secrets of their own to reveal, and there are plenty of new Tales this time around.
This is definitely a book not to be missed.

Just in case you missed the first book.

A Little About Kate

Like a lot of other writers, I began storytelling even before I could hold a pen, entertaining family and friends with intricately plotted stories and skits at family gatherings. By the age of six, I was writing poetry and short stories and gearing up for my first novel manuscript, which I completed when I was fourteen. Many other such “practice” projects followed through the years and are currently taking up residence in a 75-gallon storage trunk in my upstairs loft, anxiously awaiting revision or cannibalization for the good of other projects.
I write romance novels—currently of the paranormal, urban fantasy, and futuristic variety. But I fully intend to write horror, epic fantasy, sci-fi, and romantic suspense at some point. I’m represented by the fabulous Nicole Resciniti, who is an absolutely amazing agent! She is extremely patient with my penchant for breaking the rules when it comes to genres and knows exactly how to help me dial it back a notch while still keeping things edgy.
I live in a smallish, quintessentially Midwestern town with my husband (variously referred to online as Webmaster or Handsome Hubby), and two sons (henceforth known as Professor and Costello). When I’m not doing the day-job-thing or the wife/mom/maid/chauffeur/pack mule-thing, you’ll find me curled up with my laptop and a strong cup of coffee busily and happily doing the writer-thing.
