What would you do if you had unlimited power and eternal life?

Would you…go back to high school? Attend the same classes year after year, going through the pomp and circumstance of one graduation after another, until you found the perfect date to take to prom? Would you…spend your days moping and brooding, finding your only joy in a game of baseball on a stormy day? Or would you…do something else?

The authors of this collection have a few ideas; some fanciful, some humorous, and some as dark as an endless night. Join us, and discover what it truly means to be “vampyre.”  -Goodreads

My Thoughts

This anthology is for those of us who like a little bite with our vampire.  Those of us who crave the scare more than the swoon.  Those of  us wanting the fright with the fangs.  This darkly delicious smorgasbord of things that go bump in the night is a feast for true horror lover.
Sporting a list that reads like a who's who of horror; this book has something for every fan of the fanged.

There are no men in Claysoot. There are boys—but every one of them vanishes at midnight on his eighteenth birthday. The ground shakes, the wind howls, a blinding light descends…and he’s gone.

They call it the Heist.

Gray Weathersby’s eighteenth birthday is mere months away, and he’s prepared to meet his fate–until he finds a strange note from his mother and starts to question everything he’s been raised to accept: the Council leaders and their obvious secrets. The Heist itself. And what lies beyond the Wall that surrounds Claysoot–a structure that no one can cross and survive.

Climbing the Wall is suicide, but what comes after the Heist could be worse. Should he sit back and wait to be taken–or risk everything on the hope of the other side?  -Goodreads

My Take On Things

This book is a case of
"one and only one hero."
It seems that Grey Weathersby
is made of Teflon and walks
on water.
The authors of this book spend
so much time making things
easy for Grey that they forget
to tell the story.

Adult Romantic Erotica: "Beautiful Stranger" Is a Book You'll Love Getting To Know

Beautiful Stranger (Beautiful Bastard, #2) Title:  Beautiful Stranger
(Beautiful Bastard #2)
Author:  Christina Lauren
Format:  Print
Length:  352 pages
Publisher:  Gallery Books
Rating:  5 Stars
A charming British Playboy. A girl determined to finally live. And a secret liaison revealed in all too vivid color. Book two in the NYT Bestselling series.

Escaping a cheating ex, finance whiz Sara Dillon's moved to New York City and is looking for excitement without a lot of strings attached. So meeting the irresistible, sexy Brit at a dance club should have meant nothing more than a night's fun. But the manner--and speed--with which he melts her inhibitions turns him from a one-time hookup and into her Beautiful Stranger.

The whole city knows Max Stella loves women, not that he's ever found one he particularly wants to keep around. Despite pulling in plenty with his Wall Street bad boy charm, it's not until Sara--and the wild photos she lets him take of her--that he starts wondering if there's someone for him outside of the bedroom.

Hooking up in places where anybody could catch them, the only thing scarier for Sara than getting caught in public is having Max get too close in private.  -Goodreads

My Thoughts
Somehow the authors of the breakout erotic romance "Beautiful Bastard" have manged to hit another one straight out of the literary ballpark with "Beautiful Stranger".

Sara Dillion is a veteran in the war of love and her heart has the scars to prove it.  So when she moves to New York to start over, she decides that this time..."It's all about the fun!"
Max Stella has it all:  the looks, money, the connections and the girls.  In fact, getting the ladies is so easy for this bodacious Brit, that he has become famous for it.

When a torrid encounter in a nightclub puts Sara in his sights, Max has to find his lovely "Petal".

And when he does...

It's lights...camera...sexy!

This book is a scorcher from the start.  Sara takes a very strong lead in this book, in both action and the making of the rules their game is played by.  This in no way means that Max was a pushover in any sense.
He holds his ground in a very smooth way.
If you expected the further adventures of Ryan and Chloe this time around; you will be in for quite a shock.
This book is all about Sara and Max with only minor tie-ins to the lovebirds from the previous read.

This book is a fun sexploration of the world of exhibitionism.  Readers will love following the daring duo as they tread the ever deepening waters of lust and love, while trying to steer clear the traps of a media fishbowl.
This book manages to be extremely sexy, while not forgetting to add in likeable characters, and a well written plot that provides unexpected twists and turns with it's titillation.

Breathe (Breathe, #1)
Title:  Breathe
(Breath #1)
Author:  Sarah Crossan
Format:  Ebook
Length:  373 pages
Publisher:  Greenwillow
The world has no air. If you want to survive, you pay to breathe. But what if you can't? And what if you think everything could be different? Three teens will leave everything they know behind in Sarah Crossan's gripping and original dystopian teen novel of danger, longing, and glimmering hope that will appeal to fans of Patrick Ness and Veronica Roth.

National Book Award Finalist Kathleen Duey called Breathe "An amazing story! Sit down. Inhale. Now, while you still can." Ever since the Switch, when the oxygen levels plummeted and most of humanity died, the survivors have been protected in glass domes full of manufactured air. Protected . . . or trapped? Or controlled? Alina's a revolutionary who believes we can save the environment. Quinn's a Premium who's never had to worry about having enough air. His best friend, Bea, is an Auxiliary who's never worried about anything but having enough air. When the three cross paths, they will change everything. Sarah Crossan's thrilling and provocative novel is about passion, about yearning for something better, and about breaking free for the very first time. The Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books proclaims it an "action-packed dystopian series opener to watch out for.
