 My Thoughts
Larissa Ion has penned a new and exciting chapter in the annuals of vampire lore with her new series, The Moonbound Clan Vampires.
The first installment, Bound By Night, introduces readers to a world where vampires are slaves tty o humans.  Forced to serve, caring for their homes, children, lives, and keeping their secrets.
the past
Nicole Martin, a child of privilege, has been surrounded by vampires all of her life.  She has known them as protectors, friends, tutors, but never as...monsters.
Until, at age 8, the young Nicole becomes their first victim.

Now a young woman, Nicole has done her best to put the horrors of her past, in the past.
The past however, has other ideas.

Author Larissa Ione, has created  a world full of vampires quite different from any seen to date.
The vampires in this read can give birth, have a heartbeat, can withstand daylight, and function in pretty much the same way that human's do...except that is, for their need for blood.
Everything having to do with the vampires and their world is where this book shines.

There is however, a disconnection between the vampire story, and the present day story of Nicole and her family.
The reasoning for the kidnapping that brings Ryker and Nicole together seems rather thin, but the story that results is well worth the shaky link.

Ryker is a very strong leading man and his character is very well defined.  His role as  leader of his clan is also well done.
Roles and the who's who clanwise, seems to get a little muddy when the interaction between the
ShadowSpawn and MoonBound clans.
A lot of the stop and starts plot wise are due to the story trying to find it's feet, and as such, should be worked out in coming books.

Overall, this is a great start to what promises to be a very interesting series.
