All I ever wanted was to make a name for myself as Candice Salinas, creative writing grad student at the University of Miami. Of course, secretly I already have made a name for myself: as Candy Sloane, self-published erotic romance writer. Though thrilled that my books are selling and I have actual fans, if anyone at UM found out, I could lose my scholarship…and the respect of my faculty advisor, grade-A-asshole Professor Dylan.

Enter James Walker, super-hot local barista and—surprise!—my student. Even though I know a relationship is totally off-limits, I can’t stop myself from sneaking around with James, taking a few cues from my own erotic writing…if you catch my drift. Candy’s showing her stripes for the first time in my real life, and I’ve never had so much fun. But when the sugar high fades, can my secrets stay under wraps?

My Thoughts
This book is a truly "sweet" read!  The New Adult genre seems to quickly be falling victim to the cookie cutter mentality so prevalent in publishing.  With the majority of NA books featuring lots of sex, senseless drama, and almost nonexistent plot lines, the funny, honest, and totally relatable   STORY that is Sneaking Candy, made this reviewer's heart sing.

Candice is a young lady living in two worlds.  There is the steamy wild and free world of her erotic romance persona, Candy Sloane.
And...
Candice Salinas, creative writing grad student at the University of Miami.
When she begins a secret affair with a student, Candice begins to discover that the person she is and the woman that she is striving to become are more of one in the same than she ever thought.
All she has to do is find the courage to seize the reins of her live and plot a course that fulfills the desires of both her heart and her head.

This book put the fun back in New Adult for me.  Candice's humor and snark took a lot of the bite out of what could have been some very serious moments.  This book is written along the lines of mainstream chick-lit.  Readers get a fully articulated story that allows one to become friends with its characters and invest in their well beings.
This is a book to love!
