In Lavinia Kent’s scorching new eBook original novella, two wounded hearts find that only the sweet release of temptations long denied can heal the pain of past sins.

Five years ago, Miss Sarah Swilp had been deeply in love with Jonathan Perry, the second son of an earl. But when Jonathan inherited his aunt’s lands and money, he turned cold, demanding Sarah’s maidenhood and uttering those unforgettably cruel words: “You do know I won’t marry you.” She refused, of course, and that spoiled everything. Now, just as she’s agreed to a marriage of convenience, Jonathan reappears—and after Sarah gets one look at his lean, hard body, the embers of desire burst back into flame.

Over time, Jonathan has learned quite a bit about the art of pleasure—though nothing has ever given him so much joy as the husky timbre of Sarah’s laugh. It had hurt to leave her, but what other choice did he have? Perhaps he’d been too afraid of ending up like his brother, targeted by a woman seeking a title. Seeing her again, Jonathan can’t help wondering what might have been if only Sarah had surrendered to red-hot lust. Fortunately, judging by the wicked look in her eyes, it may not be too late to find out.

Sarah’s Surrender is intended for mature audiences. Don’t miss a preview of the next novel in the Bound and Determined series, Ravishing Ruby.

My Thoughts
When a single glance across a crowded ballroom brings Sarah Swilp face to face with Johnathan Perry; she is immediately reminded of all the things that she both loves and hates about the man.
More importantly however, she is reminded of all the things that she desires.

Yes, as much as it pains her to admit.  Even a heartbreaking spat between the two and five years of separation, with nary a word exchanged, has done little to quench the flames of unchecked passion that burn only for him.

Her dilemma...

Both he and she are slated to be wed to others.  He, to the young and very well heeled Miss Bliss.
She, to the much older Mr. Meyers.
Adding insult to injury in her case, is the fact that hers is far from a love match.  It seems that she has, for all intents and purposes, been sold to the man in exchange for the repayment of her father's gambling losses and other debts.

With mere days left before her betrothal to Mr. Meyers becomes official, and mere feet standing between herself and her heart's greatest yearning.  Sarah knows that the time has come to choose.  One night of bliss or an entire life filled with want.

Though the premise of this tale leaves a bit to be desired at the outset. (The bits preceding the sex, to be exact.)
The descriptive nature of authoress Kent's prose coupled with the intense longing that seems to radiate from the pages of every scene that the two share, turn reader attention away from the rather lack-luster beginning.
While sex rules this read, there are also plenty of surprise realizations, revelations, and recriminations being tossed back and forth between the two between orgasms.

As is often the case with Historical Romance, Sarah plays the untried ingenue, to Johnathan's worldly plunderer.
Borderline kink with a BDSM bent for Mr. Perry prefaces a rather abrupt, but well deserved 'happily...'

About Lavinia
Lavinia Kent
I live in Washington, DC with my husband, kids, two cats and a changing menagerie of other small beasts.

I worked in both the arts and in the business world before giving into my love of story telling after the birth of my oldest -- although it wasn't until after the birth of my youngest when I suddenly had full-time childcare that it all came together for me.

I love discussing books -- almost any books at any time.

One of my great joys is having my children get old enough that we can all read the same things and talk. I am so happy that YA is the flourishing world that it is.

And of course I love Romance. I started back with Kathleen Woodiwiss and Johanna Lindsay and have never given them up since -- although there were a few slow spots along the way.
