An ambitious intern. A perfectionist executive. And a whole lot of name calling. Discover the story that garnered more than two million reads online.

Whip-smart, hardworking, and on her way to an MBA, Chloe Mills has only one problem: her boss, Bennett Ryan. He’s exacting, blunt, inconsiderate—and completely irresistible. A Beautiful Bastard.

Bennett has returned to Chicago from France to take a vital role in his family’s massive media business. He never expected that the assistant who’d been helping him from abroad was the gorgeous, innocently provocative—completely infuriating—creature he now has to see every day. Despite the rumors, he’s never been one for a workplace hookup. But Chloe’s so tempting he’s willing to bend the rules—or outright smash them—if it means he can have her. All over the office.

As their appetites for one another increase to a breaking point, Bennett and Chloe must decide exactly what they’re willing to lose in order to win each other. Originally only available online as The Office by tby789—and garnering over two million reads on fan fiction sites—Beautiful Bastard has been extensively updated for re-release.  -Goodreads

My Thoughts
This book is in a word...AWESOME!  After having read the debacle that is "Fifty Shades", I am glad to see that the literary gods have seen fit to grace readers with romantically erotic fan fiction done right.

Bennet Ryan knows that he is in fact the "bastard" that he has the reputation of being.  Smart, confident, and powerful; Mr. Ryan is a man used to getting what he wants.
Until...
Chloe.
Just as smart, equally driven, and an Aphrodite to his Adonis;  Chloe Mills is everything that Bennett Ryan must have.  She is also quite the pain in his ass.  With a fiery temper, sarcastic wit, and "never let them see you sweat" attitude; it soon becomes quite clear that Miss Mills is not an opponent to be underestimated in any playing field.  Business or personal.

It goes without saying that the chemistry between Bennett and Chloe is explosive.  Readers will love the ebb and flow of the tension and banter that Bennett and Chloe share.  Couple that with the passion that these two give in to at any and all free moments, and you have romantic erotica at it's best.
You may notice that I keep referring to this novel as a work of Romantic Erotica.  The reason for this is that while this read does have a decidedly erotic plot, the overall story line ends with a very romantic "happily ever after" bow.

If you are looking for a book featuring a worldly overbearing dominate male, looking to break and make some wide-eyed naive ingenue fresh off the turnip truck.  This is not the book for you.  If you are looking for and intelligent tale of two equally suited adults swept away by the pull of an attraction too powerful for either to fight.  This is your read!

Is Chloe the woman

Great review! I have been wanting to read 50 Shades of Gray but since you say this book is so much better, I will have to read this first! I hadn't heard of this book before so thanks for this great post and for your comments!

I had totally skipped even looking at this book before now. Between all the hype after 50 Shades (like none of us ever read erotic Romance before THAT book??) and all the BAD romance & Romantic Erotica that flood amazon all the time, I have become pickier over what I actually pay money for now.
And for some reason, the cover turns me 'off' as well (almost too aggressive or something).

But after your fabulous review, I have now added it to my wishlist! I esp like that you said Chloe doesn't let him walk all over her. That is one of my problems with the Alpha guy stories I like- the women don't equal the men like I think they should. This is much better.

Great review, keep up the details.

I don't read much het erotica (I prefer m/m), mostly because I hate all the alpha-male stuff. A meeting of equals would be refreshing!

Great review! I honestly can't wait to read this. I went to Barnes and Nobles last night just to purchase an actual book because I think the cover is pretty awesome too and much to my despair they were already sold out! It's even back ordered the guy said. So I'm going to have to give up for now and download the Kindle version!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the book!
