This is a very straight forward collection of short stories dealing with the trials and tribulations in the age old war between girl and body image. Particularly when said body image contains a seeming insurmountable flaw; which stands as the only barrier between our princess and her romantic "happily ever after".
An assortment of stories tackling issues ranging from nose jobs to weight problems. This anthology features stories of young women who are aware of their flaws, but who unlike the fairytale, are not waiting for a magic wand or fairy godmother to save the day.
These young women are more than willing to put in the work to get the reward they seek. What most of them find however, is that it was never the weight, clothes, or nose, that kept them from finding Mr. Right.
That's right Dorthy!
The power was within the whole time!
Now you and Toto click your heels three times and get on home!
The secret to the "happily ever after bows" tied here lies in the heroines' ability to change their inner dialogues about their circumstances from "woe is me" to "I can fix this."
This is a great "feel good " collection for anyone doubting their fabulosity for any reason.
Readers may find the writing style of some submissions a little simplistic compared to others, but that is just a matter of taste.
All in all, this is a nice quick feel good gem of a read.
